Qhawekazi is an ethnomusicologist, musicians and Sound healer. She is passionate about the preservation of indigenous knowledge systems, music, instruments and using musical sound to help alleviate the anxiety and stress disorders experienced by youth & the greater community.
Amaza Sound Journeys, by Qhawekazi Giyose, offers individual and intimate group sessions sound journeys using therapeutic instruments that produce natural overtones of specific
frequencies, to create a safe and timeless space in which one can examine and reprogram old patterns and issues, to reconnect with their higher self.
Sound healing is the process in which aspects of music are used to improve physical and emotional health and well-being. She features a variety of musicians and multidisciplinary artists who encourage the use of music and sound as a tool in creating support structures around the practice of meditation and, to offer mental wellbeing interventions through the art. The main instruments that are used for the composition of sound journeys are vocals, the Koto-monochord, Voice and the tongue drum.
In our modern world we are exposed to things that disrupt our health on a physical, emotional, mental or spiritual level. Sound healing can assist to teach us to hold these naturally healthy and joyous frequencies in our bodies.
Qhawekazi has been holding ceremony and collaborating on sound journeys and retreats with Tārā as part of the Conscious Connection Community since 2022.
